Can your scanner see switch battery voltage? If it is reading zero, then either the TCM relay or the solenoid pack would be giving you the code 42.

 

I don't see that as an option, but relays are easy to check and I can take some from my spare Neon. Are the TCM relays the 2 mounted beside the TCM? Thanks

 

I have purchased the following manual: 1993-1995 Chrysler and Dodge Factory 41TE / AE / F4AC1 Transaxle Powertrain Diagnostic Procedures Manual. This hopefully has the same level of diagnostic for the trans. as the FSM has for the engine.
