Default 93 Caravan Limp mode

My daughters 93 Caravan (3.3, 4spd) goes into limp mode after it has reached operating temp. I hooked up my OTC Monitor Enhanced to the CCD connector and it would not power it or give codes. I have cleaned the battery and starter grounds and the PO had replaced the solenoid pack at some point. I hate to replace parts needlessly but I'm at a loss with this one.

You need to use the blue body connector under the dash, to ck for transmission codes. The connector will on the left side, looking at the steering wheel.

That's the one I connected to and it wouldn't power my scanner or anything.

That worked! Now I get code 32 and 42. Checked the FSM and it says what it could be but not how to check it. Maybe I don't have all the FSM volumes?

Okay, the codes are 32 is 2/4 hydraulic pressure and 42 is 2/4 Solenoid circuit codes. I am 99% sure the Solenoid pack is the problem. Can you ck CVI's?

The CVIs are all normal. This solenoid pack looks almost new, and seems to be the newer type with no shield and one gasket without the plate. She bought this van within the last month. What if they put this on without doing the "quick learn"?

Maybe? I would start checking the connections. There could be dirt in the screen inside the solenoid pack, causing the pressure and circuit codes.

I will examine the connectors and maybe spray them with silicone to repel water. I also drained the fluid and replaced the trans filter and refilled the trans with new ATF+4 about 3 weeks ago.

Update: Examined both connectors (at trans & TCM) and no bent pins or corrosion. Cleared codes and now it will set code 42 as soon as you turn on the key. I did this several times with the same result. Electrical pronlem? I have read that there were chafing problems and a splice problem? When I changed the trans fluid it was very clean and only had the normal black glob around the magnet. If it is an electrical problem, is there specific wires to check and location? Thanks
