Dodge Caravan Gauges

Dodge Caravan Gauges
Hi all,
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan, just over 184K miles. I have an intermittent problem in that my guages start going crazy for no apparent reason. The gas and mph hands going up and down, top to bottom - may stop in a few seconds or if I turn the auto off, then back on, then normally this will stop the chaos. Other than that the auto seems to run fine.
Has anyone experienced, have a solution, or troubleshooting procedure?
Thanks so much for any advice!

The odometer is not digital. Today I noticed both those two gauges and I think the temperature gauge...all three fluctuating up and down. And I thought I noticed the light behind the P R D D1 D2 panel fade and then get brighter. It happens so fast and for such a short time that it's hard to catch everything. But the van seems to run smoothly throughout...

Next time you have some time, put the cluster into self test by holding down the trip odometer button for about 5 seconds with the key off and then turning the key forward one click while still holding the button. the odometer will show the software level (Sof 3.2 or something) then it will run the cluster through some checks, see if the needle movement is what you see. If there are any codes it will show them in the odometer (100.1, 200.2, etc). Let me know if there are any codes.

This is the part of my job that drives me insane. Trying to find intermittent electrical problems. All of the codes you list are for loss of communication with other modules. The reason your cluster goes crazy is because the bus or communication network is going down. How long does it stay broken when it acts up? If it is for more than a couple of seconds then we have a chance.
