Exclamation Engine Control Module!

If this has been discussed before--point me in the right direction!

I have made arrangements to replace this module-[at a resonable price]-not thru Dodge. Get emissions light on dash, and after running diagnostics, all kinds of error codes came up. Mechanic says if they were real, the vehicle would not be running. When it is cold-[start-up] it does run rough, but when it warms, or if I turn it off and it sits, and started back up, it runs fine.

Suggested solution is to re-place module-[next week]!

Opinions wanted?

2002-3.8-Grand Caravan SE, have had hardly no problems with it since I have had.

Cheers

For us to help you, the starting point would be for you to post the codes you are getting. Your mechanic may be right but it could also be a wiring issue with some common thread to it that he isn't seeing.

What were the codes? I also wouldn't go throwing parts at something, unless it needs it.

Well the mod. has been re-placed-[it had a burnt chip] and all codes clear. Had a bad harness also-replaced. Ran great for a while, but now have a problem that I have been told is transmission, yet seems to be a common problem posted here!

Shuttering is what is refered to, as related to tranny! Shifts fine, but when in 4th it misses, and sometimes between 1st and 2nd gears shifting, not bad but annoying.

Have been advised to have tranny checked, torgue converter may be bad. We will see.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers
