Question 2008 Gr. Caravan horn, wipers, fan, door locks issue

Intermittent electrical issue.
Occurs while key is in ignition and other times when it is not.

Symptoms: horn blares solid, wipers will run (front/back) and will squirt fluid (front and back), a/c fan (front only) will not work while this is occuring, door locks stop working, does stop on it's own after a few minutes. then typically when attempt to start, engine light (but no stored codes, so far), and the steering controls dummy lights are displayed for at least two drive cycles. So far dealer has not diagnosed issue. Have had van for 8 weeks and this is occurred sporadically 5 times.

I found another forum where the owner indicated that her dealer replaced something called a signal receivor (related to the key fob and interpreting the signal) and so far that has resolved her issue.

Anyone heard of similiar issues? if yes, please reference where. Otherwise, anyone has ideas of how to better diagnose the issue?

they are having alot of issues with the WIN (wireless ignition node) which is the module that you put the key into. Wouldn't shock me abit if that was your issue.

Welcome to DF
We have also had some problems with the WIN module as well. Most of the time the van will not crank or start.

Followup: Still no resolution. Dealer has replaced the WIN and still occuring. Any possibility of determining what steps to go through to diagnose what the offending electrical element would be.

So far - replaced horns, cuz they burned out. So far no OBDII codes stored in computer. the WIN did show loss of communcation w/ the receivor and that they did replace. But just tonight, the issue popped up again, but with a bit a variation.

The van continued to run, even removing the key, even disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. Yep, continued to run, wipers continued to run, door locks were in operative. this kept up for 5 minutes or so. Then either because I was putting the key in and turning it on/off multiple times, or else it just finally decided to give up, it stopped (than van engine, the wipers etc...). Now when I restart it, its running just fine again.

So main question. Anyone have an suggestion as to what component sequence I should just start working through?

Did the dealer verify the problem you were having? If they didn't,ask them to hook up a co-pilot.This way you can drive the van and when it acts up you can hit the record button.

Just got my van back after being at the dealer for the past week. Here's the short summary. Found several faults/errors codes related to the TIPM (Total integration power module). Found a crimped wire and corrosion on negative cable that connected to the TIPM.

Dealer replaced TIPM, repaired and tightened wiring connections and re-routed and secured looms properly. Restored veh. configuration and so far, about 75 starts/stops and no issues. good thing still under factory warrenty. If all says good over the next 7 - 10 days, will drop a note, hopefully anyone else having similiar issue can use this information.

Im having same trouble with 08 Caravan. Today, wife said horn and wipers came on and she pulled into a parking lot and turned the key off and and removed key and van would not shut off for a few minutes. this is our second incident the first time was about a month ago. And she said it seemed to be worse this time. other than the two anomolies van operates normally.
