14" wheels 15" wheels ??
yep, you can have 14, 15, 16 or even 17" wheels stock on a gen3 minivan.
I have a 1999 Plymouth grand voyager 3.3 flex fuel that came stock with 14" wheels, I removed them and installed some 15" aluminum rims off a 1989 daytona. then I changed the computer tire size program so the speedo read correctly.

aaah ok 16" .. bigger is better ? 16" stock wheels? Yikes, I think my wheelwells are too small.
My gas mileage is 25mpg if driven carefully with cruise control.
Larger than 14" wheels may wear the smaller 3.0L more than my pals 3.3L, perhaps more than good for its lifetime, mpg, power on hills

ALL the minivans have the EXACT same size wheel wells!!!
I don't understand your logic when it comes to the 'wear' issue with the engine?????
When I put 15" wheels on my grand voyager (even thought it came with 14") there was NO change on fuel mileage nor engine wear!
Wear issue .. means that the engine must work harder to push van throught the air since the effective gear ratio is now higher i.e. the diameter of the wheel/tire which can be factor on hills where the engine transmission must shift to a lower ratio especially if the cruise control is being used. 16" and 17" tires have lower profiles so the size of the increased diameter is not as large.
Gas mileage could be lower or higher with larger wheels depending upon the manner in which the van is driven and the engine being used to drive the van.

well, i'm not about to get into all the math involved and waste my time trying to prove the fallacy of these statements . so I'll just agree with you.
funny thing is some 3.0 minivans come with 15" wheels and have the EXACT same transmission gear ratio and all.
and it's funny that chrysler allow people to program the tire size into the trans computer so the speedometer reads correctly. and it's funny that the 3.0 and 3.3 engines have the same transmission gear ratios.
I owned many VW campers and you can't really compare 58hp air cooled with flat front end to anything relevant to the tire size topic.

Not here to debate to win anything .... but larger wheel/tire = slower acceleration but more top speed ( if the engine can push it that high ). the sweet spot of the combo of engine strength and wheelsize depends on the vans use .. a contractor carrying 1000lbs might like smaller wheels for the "getting up to speed" but an artist carrying paintings to a showing 1000 miles away might prefer larger wheels to save gas on the highways
