Default 99 Grand Caravan Trans help

I'm new to this forum and have two questions. My 99 Grand Caravan 3.3L 150k miles stopped going into all forward gears a few days ago and now it won't go into reverse either. Could this be a control module, solenoid pack or something simple, or do you think I need to pull the transmission?

Second, it's showing a throttle position sensor code, but I've changed the sensor and the code won't go away, any ideas?

Thanks to everyone.

without any electronics connected the trans still has 2nd and rev. the fact you have no forward or reverse would eliminate any electrical related problem. sounds like rebuild/replacement time. you could throw the dice at new fluid/filter but that's about a 2% chance to help the problem.

you can measure hydraulic pressure. there are 6 tap ports on the front of the trans. the one furthest most on the driver side is low/reverse. put an oil pressure gauge on that port, start the car up and it is suppose to have pressure in park, rev, neutral and drive (not moving). you want to see around 100 in drive and 250psi+ in reverse.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll say my prayers, swap fluid/filter and take some pressure readings and hope for the best.

don't worry, you can get a good used trans cheap. I have some info on transmissions cheaper than any junkyard would want.

Smile It's fixed

Yesterday I removed what looked like the original 154k mile old sludge from the transmission along with the clogged filter, flushed it out and put a new filter and fluid in and presto it's running great. Shifting a little harsh so I'll swap out the solenoid pack next weekend. Guess that's one more good reason to keep up on the recommended maintenance schedule, but it did allow me to buy a great van for next to nothing...
Thanks for all the advice.

don't swap the solenoid, keep driving the van so it can relearn.

Unhappy Still shifting very harsh

Well I've put around 100 miles on it and it's still shifting very hard in 1st, and 2nd, and clunking every time I put it in Reverse or Drive.
Is there anything I can do before I break out the checkbook and take it in for a quick learn?
