Default Axle nut size for front hub?

Today I tried taking off the from hub nut with a 32mm impact socket and was too small. What is the correct size for the front hub nut for a 2000 Dodge Caravan 3.0L?

1 ¼" is 32mm show us a picture of your 32mm socket not fitting the nut because they are all that size from 1984. My factory service manual says 180 ft lbs.

I checked the socket and it says 32mm inscribed into it and doesn't fit the axle nut. Would it be 36mm?

Maybe I'm not asking the right question...

There's a Hub and bearing Nut lock and then there's the Hub and bearing Nut.

What size is the Hub and bearing Nut lock?

You are asking about the nut that threads on the drive axle? If you have a 36mm socket try it. But the correct size is 1 1/4 inch. I use it every day.

post a pict, then there's no misinterpretations.

after you removed the cotter pin, then did you remove the castle to access the nut?

Boy I'm a dummy..

The castle nut is not fastened. You just take it off by hand to reach the nut. The 32mm socket fits the nut.

Thanks guys! Now I don't need anything bigger than 32mm in my set, for now.

I took someone's advice and bought a good impact 1/2" and 3/8" socket set which I thought would cover all the basis. With having the power impact wrench and the new sockets, life became a whole lot easier.
