best place besides car-part.com and craigslist to find dodge parts........i need a transmission for said vehicle .......alll help appreciated

 

for me, the BEST place to find said transmission is in my garage. I have over 20 of them. I've bought several through car-part.com for under $150 in my area... it's now cheaper than rebuilding them.

 

you looking for used? 3 speed or 4 speed?

 

probably would help if we knew what engine too.

 

i have a 98 GC with 200k on it......i have the 3.8 engine .....ppl say its a 4sp.....but i only have D,3, and L so isnt that a 3 spd?
and i checked with dodge and a new one is $2500 for that i could buy 2 used dodge vans....so i need a used one...

 

D = 4, if it were a 3 spd, it would say D, 2, L

 

if you were near me, I'd sell you and install a good used trans with under 70,000 miles for $600 and include a 90 day warranty

I ship the installation. do you realize how expensive shipping is? Sure I could ship it to you but I can't guarantee if someone else installs. I've been down that road before and deal with a real jerk that caused the trans not to work. he broke the manual valve in the trans rough handling it then made all kinds of threats against me. I drove the van home from the auction (100 miles) then drove it all week because it was full of gas. in total I put 300+ miles on it so I knew the trans was good. Sold him the trans for $150. when he picked it up he tossed it into his van and it even tipped over and dumped trans fluid all over. 2 months later he calls that the trans is junk. I tell him to take it to any one of 3 trans shops and if it's bad that I sold him a bad trans I'll pay for the whole rebuild. well, the trans shop he took it to told me that the manual valve was busted and they said it looks like the trans got dropped even the case was cracked. basically they told the guy he was an idiot and to go away.
another case was a guy bought a trans from me then called a week later saying it was junk. I drove 30 miles to his house, to see what's wrong, meanwhile he said he pulled it out and demanded my money back. when I got to his house, the trans wasn't mine. I always mark them and I see the van in the drive, I look under the van and see my marks. then the guy has the ***** to threaten to kill me because I caught his lie. I had him charged with fraud and harassment which got him 6 months in county. anyhow, unless I can do the job start to finish, I don't chance selling transmission.
