Brake pad anti-rattle clips on 96 Caravan???
Can someone tell me where the anti-rattle clip should go on the front brake calipers? There were none installed when I removed the calipers.
I've tried Google but can't find a picture or description. ALLDATA shows them in an exploded view but not how they actually fit.
Thanks for any replies...

It was on ALLDATA.
The clips mount on upper abutment of caliper mounting adapter with split facing outward and down. They must be installed before inserting pads.

So much for ALLDATA. Just popped the wheel and caliper off and had a look. The brake assembly they show is not the same as mine. There is no way in hell I can put the clips on like they show so I'm leaving them off.
This is the second flaw from ALLDATA. The first was positioning the split in the sway bar bushings. They called for the split to be towards the rear. The groove in the bushings would then not match the bracket. They want to be installed with the split towards the bottom which I've done. It was an easy job and with replacement of the links, finally solved the front end clunk.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, that is the drawing from ALLDATA. I recently took out a one year subscription on a 1996 Grand Caravan rather than buy a Haynes book.
BTW, I had purchased a subscription for my Ford pickup which I found to be invaluable and much better than my Haynes so I thought I would do the same for the Caravan.
I'm presuming there is no clip on the 96??? The caliper adapter is way too wide to fit the clip over it in that position.

Just an FYI on my experience,
Purchased ceramic front brake pads for my 96 grand caravan from auto zone $50.00
Got a ton of clips
These are marked with clearance numbers to shim the brake pad to the caliper.
You MAY NOT need them if the pads have the proper clearance from the outer tip of the pad to the caliper.
I did not need them however i measured the clearance and kept the clips JUST IN CASE after break in. I did NOT need them.
I love these pads, SUPER QUIET worth every penny, i did replace the rotors with new ones as well.
Hope this helps

Of course it may be different for everyone which is why i kept the clips just in case, luckily did not need them.
Thought i would post an update on these pads
When i replied to this post i had gotten the best pads autozone sells ( LOL ) $54.95 front ceramic.
They were indeed very quiet, good stopping power, for about 4-5 months,
Then started hearing a loud squealing ( no deliverance jokes please lol )
I thought to myself it can't be the brakes i just replaced them????
So kept driving it like that for another 3 months ( don't shoot me )
Started hearing grinding on metal this week, took a look
And sure enough the inner pads on one side were worn down to bare metal AGAIN !!! SO FAST ????????
Well the pads lasted 8 months exactly since i bought them, if it wasn't for a sticking caliper piston they may have lasted another couple of months since the outer pads had a little less than 1/8th" thickness left, had i looked earlier i could have saved the rotors but
I got new pads and new rotors under their lifetime warranty !!!!!
I also picked up new calipers the old ones were pure toast!! which could have led to the rotors getting heat checked.
SOOOOOOOO, all in all despite the short life span i once again DID NOT need to use the shims provided, clearance was fine but you should check yours any way.
Of course nothing i think beats new dodge pads for longer life, so in a few months when these go out i'll change the pads to dodge ones.
Hope this update helps
