Default 2002 Grand Caravan (misfire cylinder #3)

A couple of days ago my wifes 02 Caravan started running rough. Took it to Autozone and had it scanned. They told me there was a misfire in cylinder #3. I am just wondering what I should begin to check. <-----------least expensive to most lol. I wish Autozone's code reading would give a little more description other than just a misfire................that could be a multitude of things lol. Oh yes and I am brand new to this forum stuff so not sure if I know how you will respond to this post if you even do. email is ryanb788@gmail.com.

IDK anything about Caravans but I do have access to Alldata and Mitchell OnDemand. However and with that being said, i need to know that the DTC code is from Autozone. If you can tell me that then I can look it up and print out diagnostics and troubleshooting info for you. PM me then info.

Always start with spark plugs and plug wires. They should be done about every 75K. After that you could be looking at an injector or valve issue.

I agree with Tizzy1. Probably spark plug. If you have at least 75,000 on the plugs, replace the whole set. If it is not the plug and the wire is the next part to replace, again replace the set.

I wish Autozone was more of the magical cure for everyone's problems! and I mean ALL problems even non-vehicle related.

Default Got it fixed

I tested all the spark plug wires with a spark tester from harbor freight tools. Cylinder number 3 had no spark. I also tested it with a good plug wire from another cylinder and still no spark. I decided to try the next possible thing and replace the coil pack. Shazam problem solved. She purs like a kitten now with all 195,000 miles. Now its just time to replace the front exhaust gasket and valve cover gasket. I'm impressed my our caravan. I've been a chevy man all my life but my dodges are impressing me......other than the intrepid we used to own lol but who hasn't had there problems with those. Thanks to all that replied to my post.
