I have a 2000 grand caravan, the problem i am having is that i have no reverse , and no second gear we replaced boath the imput and output speed sensors and the shift cyllinoid but the tranny is still not shifting , we hooked the code reader and it says "gear 2 ratio incorrect " can any one please help???????????

 

When it shifts from 1st into 2nd the engine just revs freely. Correct? If you manually pull the shifter into 1st....it drives ok in 1st, yes? But nothing at all in reverse.

If these are your symptoms then there are now 3 of us having the same issue!!

 

no i have no 2nd , 3rd, or reverse and it wont even go in manualy , all i have is my low 1 st gear

 

So this is a 3spd trans?

We know you have a 2000 minivan. What I and the others need to know is the engine size, because this will us to help you with your problem. I can only guess you have a 4 speed automatic. If this what you have, I sorry that the problem is inside the transmission and may need to be repaired or replaced with another transmission.

 

its a 3.3L and yes its a 4 speed tranny yes when its in 1st gear its drives just fine but when its tries to change into 2nd gear its goes into neutral and the only way to get it back into 1st is to stop put it in park shut it off and restart the van then i have first again but no reverse at all this sucks let me tell yea

 

This sounds exactly like whats wrong with mine as well...

 

Hi , I read on another site that someone had a simular problem . After a lot of checking it was the valve body was worn out .Before you pull the trans. pull the pan an inspect the valve body first . an ole mans thoughts Bud
