Default cut hole in hvac; experienced only respond

Have seen technician on internet cut hole in hvac to change shaft in blend doors, to avoid task of moving dash board.

Have you ever done this to replace an evaporator??

If you haven't done this or don't envision, then please don't reply to this thread.

Thanks

well what ever it takes to be the easiest to removal. sometimes the only way to get something out is to go thru the ductwork.

Well then again DIY it and you maintain that fat wallet. I've read about it but too long ago to remember details.

I've done it for the Grand Cherokee blend door shaft because there is an official TSB, repair kit, and template for it. did it once, never again, i feel like i just butchered the car.
there is no way you can pull out a heater core or evaporator like this.

What ever a person wants to give cutting it to get it out, butcher, or resourceful. If it works it's called success. Thanks for sharing your stories.
