2008 3.8l 6 spd shifting strange at 40K help please
Well taking my wife's SXT van in to the dealer has 40k on it but seems messed up. When you going to stop it shudders and slams into 1st. Doesn't shift until 3000 rpm seems to hunt for any gear it can find all this after a tranny service?????
Any ideas what I should say to the service writer??
Thanks
Randy

It was done at the Dodge dealership where we bought the van, no lights on and it has always shifted strangely, hunting for gears last time they loaded a new program from a TSB but it has gotten worse over time.
I know this is bad eo say but it just shifts so erractically compared to my Toyota FJ which always seems to know when to shift no matter what the throttle position.
With our old 2000 Caravan wrong fluid destroyed the tranny hoping they did not screw it up at least we still have some warranty but it really makes me wonder I specifically chose this van because of the 6 spd transmission.
Thanks
Randy

Yes I am a little concerned about what the problem was and what was said.
I have had Jeeps for 20 years but after seeing the performance and towing capacity of the 4 door Jeep with the 3.8 L engine I just couldn't do it.
But I also hate to say I just bought a Toyota FJ. All I can say is their engineering with their sweet 4L engine and wonderful transmission just outclasses the Jeep.
I really want to be positive and support North America but we can't we get better products....
Randy, and yes I still own 1 Dodge.
