Ok,

I am going to explain what I have done so far.

When I went to install the cruise control I pulled all the elements I could see from a 96 GC, I then hooked up the servo under the hood to the existing wires. From there I went though the wiring diagram in the service manual and tapped into the feed wire for the cruise control on the PCM under the hood. From there I ran a separate ground from the clockspring to the body (took the paint off and attached the wire) I then ran the wire from the dimmer module to the brake switch as the electrical diagram states. When ever I press the "on/off" button on the wheel I hear a clicking noise under the hood when the key is in the on position, I had my father press the button while I was under the hood and I found out its the servo clicking each time the button is pressed, So I assume its getting the signal? When ever I press the "Set" button is does nothing while running above the min speed. I have hooked up the vaccum lines as they were on the GC, This van did not come with cruise control, But the steering column i installed was from a cruise control van. I have tried two different clock springs to no avail. I have also replaced the switches twice with some out of another GC, and the dimmer module to no avail.

The parts you removed from the 1996 have 3.0L with a 3speed trans?

Here is an overview on how the speed control works and how to check it. The PCM supplies 12v to the servo on the V32 circuit to the brake lamp switch, through the switch and to the servo on the V30 circuit (DB/RD wire). Two wires go from the servo to the PCM which it grounds to actuate the solinoids. The PCM also feeds power to the speed control switches which are resistive multiplexed so whatever button is pushed, a different voltage goes back to the PCM and it knows what button was pressed. With the engine running, when the on/off button is pressed, the "cruise" indicator should illuminate on the cluster. You should also see 12v at the dark blue with red tracer wire at the servo. See if you have both and let us know.

the cruise lamp is located in the cluster, not on the switch

My cluster does not have that light. It's the premium with the rpm gauge. Also out of the same van
