2011 Grand Caravan Trans issues begin!!!
I have a 2011 Dodge Caravan, now 1000km. I noticed problems when 200km.
1. Suddering at low speed in reverse on incline
2. When start from cold, the shift is a bit jerky going forward.
3. Today, when I braked, I released my foot on the brake pedal a little bit, the van jerked forward. I have to brake quickly again.

I am sorry to hear the problems you are experiencing. I would suggest getting it in to the dealer and let them take a look at it. If they cannot make it right then I would suggest you call the Customer Assistance Center number in your owners manual. If you want to PM me your VIN I will try and find any recall or TSB's that exist on your issues.
I too am experiencing many of the issues reported in this thread. My van is at 1500 miles now.
Issues include:
1) The van definitely has a strong shudder when reversing on an incline. From the number of posts on this, is this simply a design flaw?
2) Transmission noise when downshifting to 1st/2nd gear.
Has Chrysler released any official memos/recalls on these issues yet? Surely these aren't impacting just us forum posters.

after posting on this issue.. and reading the rest..we're all experiencing the same issues and I'm not alone... I even called Chrsyler Canada, and they can't do anything about it... unless all dodge caravan owner would complain.. they probably do something.. pls repost any result if some owner called Chrysler Canada and complain.....

Hi guys, do you find that the rough shifting at low speeds happens only sometimes or all the time? We have 18000 km on our 2011, GC and sometimes it does shift rough at low speeds but not all the time. I have also heard a funny clunking noise, not that loud but noticable a couple times while the van shifts gears when we are slowing down and going at a low speed. I have been trying to decide whether or not to report it to Chrysler. The dealer we purchased our van from is useless so I haven't bothered talking to them. We had some problems at the beginning and I had to pull teeth to get them to fix the problems.

Van was back at dealer another dealer today, wipers had stopped working and for the transmission issue. This dealer states that the transmission hard shifting is normal, it skips second gear at times like if its in econo mode..... and the slipping in reverse....hehehe...normal...easy way out for them... gonna drive it for a few more days and send it back.... if transmission issue cannot be solved Lemon law will be pursued now....
I have same trans issues on mine with 4000 miles. Its been in the shop now 4_1/2 weeks for another issue they can't fix. I know there are updates for the trans though so have them update the software it might help.
