Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like your trans isn't shifting into all of the gears. You have a shift solenoid failure which means it isn't shifting properly and this will cause it to use a lot more fuel.

Welcome to DF
You have a low reverse circuit code, and the most likely cause as lxman had said the shift solenoid which is also called a solenoid pack. That should fix the problem.

I'm new here and learning lots thanks to all of the folks here. Now for a question. In our fleet, we have a 2002 GC with 20X,XXX miles on it. I took it for a drive the other day and it seems to shift very erratically. It just seems like there is too much shifting going on. With cruise control on and going up a hill, it would shift up for a second, then back down as well as it just seems like it isn't working right. I don't drive automatics but rarely so I can't say for sure if this is typical or an indication of a problem.

Codes, you ask? I had none codes one day and cleared them then had 10 codes, then 12. The last time I checked it had 9 I think. One of them was the P0700 code mentioned here, but we have also seen P0122 and P0123, which is a TPS high and TPS low voltage IIRC.

I am betting that the transmission hasn't been serviced in way too long, so do you think we should start there, or are we still looking at a solenoid pack?

Or is the solenoid pack inside the trans and the fluid gets changed along the way?

Here are the codes I saw one day and I think they are about the same.
P0508, 0171, 0122, 0123, 0106, 0888, 0700, 1491, 1495. I can look up what they all are, so I'm not asking for a break down of each one, but for the experienced folks here, does anything here point to anything specific to help us track down the trans shifting problem?

And one last thing, I my posts are often littered with typos and I can live with that, but my user name is a typo! D'oh! How can I get someone to change it TDIDog?

Welcome to DF
First you should check the wire harness on the rear cylinder head. The minivan vans are having a common problem with wires melting, 2nd you would need to contact a site admin for a user name change.

Are you thinking the harness may be the source of all of my problems?(other than my fat fingers) The codes don't come right back.
