found something that might help, it might not.

Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Intermittent Loss of communication on Interior High Speed Bus, IHS, Bus. Cluster warning lights may be on, windshield wipers or head lights may be on and cannot be shut off. Vehicle may have bus fault codes.
Discussion:
If the vehicle is experiencing any of the above conditions, check for an IHS bus issue. Inspect the harness in the power lift-gate and motor area.
1. Monitor the IHS bus voltage with a DVOM and or monitor ECU topology view with a scan tool while moving the wiring in the subject area. If change or fluctuation occurs view and repair the failed area, connecter or harness.

That's the trouble with bus systems. A problem in one area can show itself in another. Sliding door harnesses causing irratic instruments and now this.

There are 4 or 5 common trouble areas on these for the CAN IHS BUS.

James, a good dealer will have someone who knows where to start looking. I kind of agree with them though...don't erase the codes with a battery disconnect anymore. At least they'll have an idea of where to go to first and save you a little dough.
