Default Continuing Saga of the BCM

My '96 Caravan and after swapping out the headlight switch (no solution there) I have to believe my BCM is the culprit (previous post of Gremlin in the headlights). Does anyone have a source for purchse of this item (aside from the dealer) and realizing it must match the descrption of the one I am replacing, can anyone aside from the dealer reflash the new one?

If u don't want to spend too much money, and don't mind about cosmetic, I would probably cut the BCM control wire, and just go pick up a switch, hard wire it for head lamp control.
Just pick up the switch with an LED in it to remind you ur head lamp is ON. These things are only $15 from autozone

With wires and connectors, you get it done for less than $20, beats paying $300 or searching threw the junkyards and hoping to find the right BCM.
Call me a hack if you would, I am all about saving time and money, yet get the car back on the road.

Default Bcm

Located them at ROCK Auto, they have several based on the serial number or code number I need to pull mine and then order correct one, appears I ship mine to them and they have it rebuilt and return it to me. Cost is $241.00 plus S&H.

That's what I thought too, I look thru a few Car Computer exchange website, none of them list BCM, only PCM.

You won't find the BCM on any web site. Its on a exchange thru the dealer.

Go to Rock Auto, start search ( year, make, model) and then search for body control module and the BCM (or body control computer) comes up with several different models and they are send in for rebuild and return. At least that what i found in my search.

you might end up buying a headache. Rebuild bcm doesnt always come out right, I ran into bad Mopar exchange Computer out of the box quite often. But the good thing is, they always have plenty exchange unit in stock when i need it waranty. and the problem u r having is not even an OBVIOUS fault.
But What's listed on Rock auto is not even an exchange program, your car will be down for week waiting for the BCM to be rebuild, if rebuild didn't work, you are in for a roller coaster ride trying to get waranty done.

You were right, it's listed as body control computer in the search, the price is right if anyone needs it and the quality is there.
