thump while turning at slow speed
My van has just developed a slight thump while making a hard turn at slow speed on the driver side. Does not do it every time, just once in a while. It does not do it over bumps. I know it is not the sway bar bushings or linkage haveing just replaced them. I have not looked at it yet but would like to know just what to look for when I do.
The wheel and brake rotor are tight. The cv joint and wheel bearing should give other signs if going bad, but I will check them.
Can the spring in the shock tower slip and give this kind of bump?

Just to let you know.
The driver side tie rod end had a very small amount of play, could not see any movement but could feel it as the wife rocked the steering back and forth. It is now fixed.

Not the strut bearing.
The ball joint at the outside end of the tie rod next to the wheel. While turning at slow speed the tire was being turned like it was not rolling and when the steering was turned in the oposite direction it would thump, but not every time. There was just a little slack in the ball joint, not enough to see, I could only feel it when holding the joint.
