Default 2011 Grand Caravan Brake issue

we own a 2011 dodge grand caravan with just under 7000 miles. Our 2008 had brake and rotor issues every 3 or 4000 miles. We got the 2011 because we were told the issue was fixed...now at 7000 miles they appear to be warped. has anyone else experienced this on the 2011? Any one know why it keeps happeneing?

thanks!

i did a search but yielded nothing on the 2011 and above except for a post by me before we bought it. At that time i inquired as to if anyone had a feeling as to if it was fixed. Since a year has passed i figured I would check back. Google.com only really brings things up from 2008.

Anyone know why they would keep overheating and warping? I have heard it is because th evan is too heavy for the size of the brakes/rotors....seems odd that they would be so cheap on the brake system when the rest of the van is outstanding.

*what do you mean heavy duty brake kit? won't win? is it a lost cause or?

Thanks all

No, it is not fix. The Front brake extended warranty will give you front pad and Rotors ($100 co-pay if over 12k miles) for 2008 - 2011

well a big brake kit is a kit that comes with larger caliper's, pads, and rotors usually they range around $1,000 n up unless u fab your own this will solve your brake issues, which I believe these calipers are the same if not very similar to the pervious body style which is almost 1,000 pounds lighter then our body style which weighs around 4300 n the pervious model is 3500 n some change; another reason why the 3.3-3.8 is to small of a engine in this body style but unfortunately I like this van and so do you but you got to invest in a better brake system and there’s noting else you can do what so ever so don't waste your money save for a better brake system, I’m already doing that, and investing in a VM/VW Diesel motor which is equipped in our van in Europe since the early 90’s and they average a remarkable 35-40 mpg so that’s my 2 cents GL

that is not too common on 2011, mostly all brake issues are solved. Mine is at 14k and no runout on rotors, not even slight steering wheel shudder so I think its depending on driving habits or driving ambient...Now if they could only get that transmission issue solved.

Question

Hi all,
i had the brakes/rotor's replaced and rear brakes cleaned in may (covered by extended warranty) due to a 'shuffling sound when driving.
A few days ago i hear a whining/squeeling/creaking sound when braking.
I've still got warranty on the brakes/rotors (2 years or 50k/km) but am concerned if these pre-mature failures will be an ongoing thing after the warranty up.
Any other 2011 owners having this issue?
I've got an appointment tomorrow in the meantime.

Hmmm...an interesting related read:

Well, just got back from the dealer and they couldnt find anything wrong or replicate the sounds from the brakes.
Front pads were at 9mm and rear 6mm and rotors were fine.

Well, about a month later, the brakes are squeeling %90 of the time when applied, so something is up.
So if i understand this correctly, after the extended warranty is up, i'm going to be replacing or getting my brakes/rotors serviced twice as much as I normally would?

WTF???

I'll be back at the dealer on tuesday.
