Default Grand Caravan 2011 engine vibration

Hello,

I have a small engine vibration when idling on D, and a hate to put the tranny in neutral to reduce the vibration every time i'm waiting at a red light, Does anyone now how to cure this issue?

Went to the dealer but they could not find anything since there is no check engine even if they notice the vibration.

Thanks

Do you have the 3.6 engine or the 3.8?

well, maybe you have bad motor mount? bad trans mount?
Jack up the engine like half inch under the oil pan. If vibration goes away, motor mount might be bad.

I have a 3.6 Pentastar and I was wondering if this engine is knowed for vibration.

Dealer reflash the engine computer (ECM PCM?) with no result. Maybe I should ask them to reflash the computer for the tranny.

The Grand Caravan is great except for this vibration and even the passenger can feel the vibration.

Dealer said they have the same vibration as the 3.3 L but never had this with my previous Gc 2002. Different engine and tranny!

I had a similar issue with my Ram 2008 and it was a ''transmission prime lost'' and was repair by dealer under warranty within a few hours.

I've noticed the same vibration since new on my 2011. The dealer said to wait for it to break in and after 8000km it is the same. It also clunks like hell sometimes after starting and putting into gear.

I think it's just unrefined Dodge designs.

I tought these engine were developp by Mercedes in partnership with Dodge a few years ago!

Anyway, this vibration is disagreeable and i bought a Dodge not a Harley...so I'll pass by the dealer next week

Dealers can't find the problem... no check engine, no mistfire... so i guess i'll have to wait for a check engine.!!!! or run my diesel for a smoth idle.

I have the same "problem". No engine lights either. And as far as the trans that thing engages pretty rough especially when downshifting to a stop sign. Cold weather makes everything even more pronounced.

The 2012 I rented last week had a transmission problem or annoyance too. At very low speeds, (inching in traffic jam) it would shift abrubtly between low gears..and internal shifts with very sensible bang would occur even when downhill on NEUTRAL..this always at very low speeds (only) , like 3-8 km/h. It seems the computer would shift gears based on speed even in neutral... It had 12000 km on odo.
