Default Problems with 2001 dodge grand caravan

Im having a problem with the transmission. It seems to be something electrical, when it messes up it wont shift out of 2nd gear and the speedometer jumps from 20 to 60. My van is equipped with autostick, which i dont use. When it starts messing up al 4 gears light up when i put it in autostick. If i shut the van off it resets the computer, but it goes right back to doing the sae thing once i try to drive it. What could be causing this problem. The transmission in the van is a new one also. Its a 2001 dodge grand caravan.

Welcome to DF
Your transmission is going into limp in mode. You need the to have the TCM scan for active or stored codes.

Anytime there's simultaneous shifting problems with erratic speedometer indications, the output speed sensor circuit is suspect. That sensor is the signal source for the speedometer and plays a role in transmission shift scheduling. It can be caused by a bad sensor, TCM or circuit wiring. A code read may or may not confirm it.

It is mounted on the driver's side front of the transmission. Here's an article with a diagram and pictures that also tells you how to access and replace the sensor. http://newprotest.org/details.pl?1410

Usually it's the sender in the fuel tank. It's part of the fuel pump so you change the pump and you have a new sender.
