Exclamation 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. 3.3 Liter Automatic Trans

I have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 Liter Automatic transmission, but need to change the transmission, I found a 2003 Dodge, Caravan, 3.3 Liter transmission. Does anyone know if they are comparable? in other words, can I put the 2003 transmission into a 2002 Grand caravan?

Thank you,

D

What kind of search term would you use for that. Are you a forum moderator?

Sorry didn't mean to be a jackass. Seems like everyone joins and asks a question gets their answer and never contributes anything back.

Please let us know what you come up with and have to go through. And the costs if you don't mind.

Thanks.

There are two things I would do - call auto wrecker, they have compatibility matrix and search on ebay.

According to what I see on ebay, 2001 and 2002 have same transmission, but 2003 and 2004 have different. Not sure what the differences are, but that's what I see.

Also I see that there are different type of transmission for 2001-2002; 2003-2004; 2005-2006; 2007.

Looking at Wikipedia (If you believe it's true): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultradrive

Since 2003 (2004 model year), the 41TE was replaced by a similar but cheaper and lighter 40TE transmissions in cars equipped with inline-four naturally aspirated engines.

I would suggest looking for 2001-2002 transmission.

As long as both vans are 3.3l it will work fine and bolt right up. I run a 03 trans in my 96 and it was not as simple but easy non the less.
