Default 2010 Grand Caravan - Ticking from transmission plug every 10 seconds

2010 Grand Caravan, 3.8, Auto, 110k Miles

My wife says it is 'shifting a lot' and revs when she slows then proceeds. I hooked up my laptop and found no stored codes or freeze frame data.

I was trying to figure out how the heck to check the transmission fluid when I noticed noticed that there is ticking noise every 10 seconds from the engine bay. Using my trusty $5 mechanics stethoscope I tracked down the ticking is coming from an electrical connector on the front of the transmission.

A photo of the ticking connector is attached.

So, I seek advice on the ticking noise and the shifting problem, perhaps they are related?

Much Appreciated

Ok, I have determined that this plug is for the Solenoid Pack. So the ticking noise makes sense that it is a solenoid actuating. Question is why?

Basically I need help determining which way to go. If I knew it was the solenoid pack then I would replace it myself. But what if it is something else causing the solenoid to actuate, like low fluid or a sensor somewhere. I wish there was some trourbleshooting information on this.

I found a 62TE transmission manual here but it just has parts replacement steps:

Anyone have any troubleshooting info?

When you hear the ticking sound, is the transmission in park or in gear?
