Shifting revisited
I took my 2002 T/C to a reputable tranny shop. They found no codes, fluid was fine, clutches within specs. They did a filter change with ATF+4 fluid. They also did a flash and quick learn. The tranny does shift better but occasionally still has a noticeable shift from 1st to 2nd. They said to drive it, as it is minor and to come back if it got noticeably worse. I don't know what to think. They did not recommend a rebuild at this point.

No need to think about it any further - just do what the shop recommended.
Here's a friendly fyi about posting information on these forums. You've started 3 separate thread about your transmission problems. If you start a thread that gets an exchange of information, don't start a new thread if you're just continuing that same, or closely related discussion. Just keep posting on the original thread. The reason is that the original thread contains a history of what's been discussed so far, and anyone coming in new can quickly get the full picture. But when you start a new thread, it's likely that someone not familiar with that history will ask questions that have already been hashed out in the previous thread(s). Not a big deal, just something to save you and others from wasting time unnecessarily.
