Default caravan will not start

The other day I was driving down the road and started experiencing power loss i pushed the gas and nothing was happening. So i pulled over the van continued to run but was idling very ruff the lights were flickering. The next thing was the CEL started to flash. so I cut the van off. waited a min and tired to start back but no luck. I read a code p0171 to start with. so I reset the computer and the van started but was idling ruff again for about 5 seconds. I checked the plugs and wires look ok. I started trying to start it again. no start. so I turned the key off and on 3 times and the code flashed up p0522. Im lost because Ive read alot and it says the van should start even flashing p0522. also the oil light never came on. please help thanks

In most cases when the engine lamp flashes, That means you may have a sever misfire problem. What year is you van? Because from 2001 to 2004, I would start looking at the fuel injection harness.

P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage - sensor is near the oil filter on the 3.3/3.8 engines. Which engine do you have?

master tech - Chrysler didn't sneak in a low oil pressure kill circuit on the 07s did they?

caravanmaniac - Have you determined if you're not getting fuel or spark to the engine? May be worth looking at that wire harness master tech mentioned regardless of the model year. I recall a fried wire harness somewhere near the engine on an 06 a while back.

when it first started acting weird no power, it was idling very ruff and shaking. it was giving p0171 code. would a bad maf sensor keep the van from starting?

I haven't seen any problems with low oil pressure causing a no start. I have seen the low oil pressure on the 5.7 cause a no start. I also agree, do you have fuel to the rail and do you have spark. And yes a MAP sensor will cause a no start too. Because of the baro sensor.
