Ya that's ugly. Short of replacing the wire harness those two "connections" need to be reworked and spliced correctly either using actual splices or solder and heat shrink insulation. Cut out the visible bare wire, strip back the insulation on both ends, slip heat shrink on one side, solder them together, slide the heat shrink over the splice and heat. Done.

Issue had been solved!!!!!!!!!! At least we hope so.


There was a corroded wire at the starter solenoid. Wire was replaced and the terminal repaired. Problem was found by wiggling the wire (very rust starter) during a no start. It took a long time due to the van having to be in a "no start". It seemed every time I looked for it, and when the mechanics looked for it, the car was running.


Interesting to see that the solution was basic. Thanks to all who tried to help, especially Cougar41!
