my buddy Merrill was shot 25 years ago and is Quadruplegic. We have been friends 35+ years. im a hairdresser and Saturday mechanic. Today i tried to fix his airbag shock but couldnt cuz he has a gas leak. i wanted to stop the leak coming from the top of his 95 caravan gas tank but cant. Gravity sucks. engine off battery disconnected, the schrader valve on the fuel rail pushed and a small amount of gas comes out every time even though its uphill from the tank. What is causing the pressure for the gas to leak from the op o the tank.. Merrills friend Tony p.s. nobody wants to work on his wheelchair ramp. I fixed the loose chain last time by replacing one of the chains gears with a larger one. $1.39

 

What vehicle are we talking about? Kinda need to know that information.

Take the gas cap off, see if it stops.

Yeah, there is a check ball down at the bottom of the fill tube, to prevent gas from getting out in the event of a rollover. It also prevents getting a hose down in there to siphon as well.

Why you are still seeing gas out of the schrader valve with the cap off, and the system depressurized is beyond me. It really shouldn't be doing that. But then, you knew that.

May just need to bite the bullet, and drop the tank as is.

 

yikes drop it as is..... ive done that before....yikes...your right...ive bwasted a lot ofbtime... my buddy didnt drop off the jack stands or else.........thanks everyone
