[5th Gen : 08+]: 2014 Grand Caravan Left Cylinder Again
I have a 2014 Grand Caravan and had the left cylinder head replaced due to a cylinder 2 misfire in 2018 at 74k miles. I am now getting a cylinder 6 misfire same cylinder head. I only have 113k on the van right now (less than 40k since the head was replaced), but the local delearship said the warranty is only good for 2 years. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this cylinder head malfunctioning twice and if dodge took care of it.
I just had to have the transmission rebuilt in April so I'm a litle upset to have this many major issues with just over 110k miles.

They need to isolate the problem first before replacing any parts. Switch the spark plug to cylinder number 2 and coil to number 4. The next thing to do is switching the fuel injector. But if you at the dealer have them switch the injector to a different cylinder.
I had it in the shop and they did replace the plug and the ignition coil, but had the same result. It drives alright, but it is very "rough" at idle and until rpms are over 1500. I was told the cylinder head needed to be replaced again. I just feel it's a known issue with this motor and it's only been 40k miles since it was replaced the first time. Seems like it should've lasted longer than that with regular maintenance done since I bought it.
I'm new to the forum and not sure how to send a direct message to you. I clicked on your username as suggested in your signature, but the option to send a direct message doesn't appear.
Thanks for lookig into possible solutions.
Thanks for the advice. They did perform all of those checks and determined that it was the cylinder head again.
Do you know if the dealership had contacted Star Technical and start a report on the vehicle? The Star tech line would have ask to do a few things like I have said. My next step for me is remove the valve cover and inspect the lifters and follower (Rockers) because if the follower has a loose bearing that could cause a misfire and noisy lifters. Loud ticking sound. I'm not on everyday, I'm now retired from Dodge Dealerships as a Tech.
