If as we've seen, will you buy new Challenger?
ORIGINAL: DevilsReject
Now, I expect we will see a very baseline version of the SRT-8 for around the $31-32k range. Just the bare necessities. Then you start adding the additional crap and it will get up around $35-36k for sure.

I happened to run accross another magazine cover again today,
and my over 35k price was kind of confirmed. I don't wanna post the mag cover, cause I'm not sure if the mag/DCX will like it, like last time.
Well hopefully the price issue will fall where we hope $30k or less. But who knows.
To change gears...What do we think won't make it from Concept to actual production?
My fear is that the "butterfly" functional hood scoops will fail some -60 degree endurance crap or something. I was so pleased to see that, even better than the original Challenger fake scoops.
Does sound like the dual exhaust system is a "go" as spec'd out, mirroring the original rectangular shape, etc.
Saw where Creed mentioned 340 hp hemi, (so not the 6.1), that worries me most!

Man do I want this car! It's a shame that I just purchased my srt-4. Throw on a go wing and its 1970 all over again.
I do see a few changes that will probably be made.
First is the console. It is very ergonomic, but I just don't see it happening...which is a shame.
Also I do believe they will put in the 3.5 for the base model, with the 5.7 hemi option on the RT and 6.1 or 6.4 with the SRT-8.
But I would still trade in my srt for this bad boy!!!

Agree about the console. And it would a shame. I do find it interesting that they are not using the "rallye dash", a favorite amongst the mopar faithful?
And like Ford, I hope they make the "Go wing" optional...I know some love it...I'd bag it.

If you look at pictures taken from the drivers perspective it looks like a modern version of the rallye dash. Look at the video from Edmunds. You'll get a real nice shot of the dash.
I like the body and interior, but I wish they would quit putting bigger and bigger wheels on these things. The 22" wheels or whatever they are, take away too much from the look of the car itsself. Put some old 15" SS rims or rally rims on it with some big Mickey Thompson meats on the back........The Camaro concept has the stupid huge wheels also....thats why I had to vote for the Mustang in the other poll......
