My dad was in the military for 26 years and he's hella **** about thingsat the time he manage to keep his94 or 95 Lexuslooking new when my sister andI was kids. I picked up his habit a little bit I'm just not as **** as my dad.
How many miles were on that Charger? They dont' really start running until they have about 5,000 on them, and then at about 10,000, mine at least, seemed to really open up - especially from the midrange on up. Also, if the previous "owner" drove it kind of "grandma" like (no offense to anyone's grandma), it may not take off like you'd think. The transmission and "HAL" have a thing going, I think, and if you drive it slow, it will be slow to respond. Takes a while to get things to shake out, so to speak, and wake up.

Good catch Dave, your absolutlyright! Pull fuse 11 or disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the PCM and HAL.

I know my Ram said in the manual that short bursts ofwide open throttle within the limits of the law would aid in break in. I took that one to heart and my truck is well broke in.
