Default 2011 RT Help

I was driving today and I did a U-Turn and had to floor it to get into the far lane. My check engine light came on and now my car is misfiring at around 50mph when I push it. It only has 300 miles on it.

It was raining and it felt like my car kind of slipped or skipped a gear. I called the dealer and they said it might be a sensor. I am taking it in on Monday but wanted to ask your opinion on something.

I bought this car to drive it fast obviously, if i floor it from 0-60 every once in a while will this damage my car? Do you think this caused this specific problem, one of the guys said it could be a O2 sensor. Now I feel guilty and don't ever want to floor it again.

Anyone? I Have warranty but I'm afraid I might have done something that will cause me problems in the future and that's the last thing I want with a new car....

Don't worry about it. If you go back to the dealership that you bought the car from, they should take care of you. especially it is ur first visit.

Just go ahead and beat on it, The Hemi and Nag1 Trans are used on Heavy Duty Truck that tow and haul all day long, they are tough as long as you do ur oil change regularly. (just don't smoke ur tire every stop light, you will be ok)

What he said. You can beat the crap out of these cars. I'm old school though and still follow break in rules for engine even though these newer engine "don't really require it" in my eyes, you can never be to careful. I didn't tr killing my charger until the 2500 mile mark and an oil change at that time. That's when mine saw WOT daily!!! LOL!!! Even smacked my speed limiter a few times.

Something happening at 300 miles is a fluke. I never look at anything bad that happens that early. I consider those types of "crap outs" as out of box failures.

One more thing I wanted to ask is if it is a cylinder or just a sensor/spark plug can I still drive the car if I keep it under 50 where it is not having any misfires? Or will that further damage the car. It's AWD also I don't know if that makes any difference, just thought id mention it. As you can tell I'm no car expert, but I do love to drive em so I appreciate the feedback.

UPDATE: The dealer told me they are still diagnosing the problem but that it is a software issue. So now I don't know what to think. Hope it's an easy fix.

My 06 Charger had something simular happen. It ended up being a reset of the stability control system.

I wouldn't worry to much, it's a new LX platform, they're are always issues that will need to be worked out. My Charger turns 6 years old first week of June, bought back in '05, one of the first 200 owners when the Charger went on the lots, and has run like a top since. I had a ECM glitch too, then, so enjoy your beast!
