I just purchased a 2013 Charger SXT plus. Love the car. I connected my iPhone 5. Using the 8.4 in. touch screen playing music works great, making phone calls works great. Unfortunately using the voice commands to make a phone call does not work. If I say "call" and use a name in my phonebook (which shows up fine on my connect) it says it doesn't understand to try again. If I say dial and say a phone number it tries to change the radio station to an AM station. Sometimes saying satellite or FM works fine to change the source and sometimes it doesn't work at all. When saying an FM radio station it seems to work all the time and changes to the correct station. Has anyone else been having these types of issues with the Iphone 5 or with any other phone.

I haven't heard of any issues with the Iphone5. The Owner's Manual does advise to speak as calmly and normally as possible in the Voice Command system. The Voice Command system may be negatively affected by rapid speaking or raised voice levels.

For more information on the Voice Command feature I would suggest reviewing your Owner's Manual, starting on page 185. I hope this helps, however if you continue to experience concerns contact your local Dodge dealer and they will be able to diagnose the problem.

I took it in today and after checking it out I was told it must be an Iphone5 issue and hopefully there will be an update disk coming out soon to fix the problem.

 

I have a new Dodge Dart Limited with a Galaxy 3 paired to the uConnect and have the same problem. While in the telephone screen I say call home and it switches to the Navigation screen. I say tune to satellite channel 110 and it goes to channel 10. I have tried every combination of words to get it to work but it always gets it wrong. I also get a lot of "I didn't understands" from the lady in the dash. I don't know why it would have anything to do with the phone.

 

Ive given up on this part of the UConnect. I just cant get it to work. The voice recognition seems to be very poorly designed. I would love to know if there's a way to make it work.

 

It has nothing to do with the iphone5 I had a 2011 Charger and the Uconnect worked great now I have a 2013 Charger and it doesn't work at all. It has to be a problem with the system. I'm actively looking for a solution to this very annoying problem.

 

I have a Chrysler 300 C and have the same problems using the voice commands to make a call with a Samsung Galaxy 3. It worked fine with our 2011 300. Chrysler need to fix this problem. This is not in the phones but in Chrysler's software.

 

Katie, no matter how calmly you speak this voice command for making calls has problems with Chrysler's software

 

Try going into your phone blue tooth settings. There maybe 2 settings in there to use phone audio make sure it is checked when you are connected to uconnect. Also make sure the phone book is being updated inside uconnect, it may be asking for permission to use the phone book inside of uconnect make sure it has permission to use.

 

i recently went from a 2006 Trailblazer, which was just a basic radio with cd player to a 2013 ram 1500, with all the uconnect, sxm, voice commands, and blutooth. Yes it took me a while of reading the manual and trying to figure out the thing. i had problems at first, but not anymore. I would hit the voice command on the steering wheel and use the voice commands to navigate the radio, works fine, but i had a problem with the phone at first. i had all my contacts in the phone with everyone's full names and the voice command had problems understanding what i was saying. so i went through my address book on my phone and shortened everything. ie: changed johnathen smith to John. once i did that, everything worked fine. I did find out if i hit voice command, i can make a phone call, i have to hit the voice command button, then the phone button.
