hey everybody

I am very happy with the tuner...much improved take off - especially 1-2 gears in Drive. I had been using the autostick alot so I could hear the exhaust more, but the autostick 1-2 was alittle rough.

Other thing I noticed after tuner, when crusing around 40mph in Drive the trans seems confused on whether to shift up or down. I don't remember feeling that alot, but I was using autosti.... blah blah.

And the only two choices for the tuner were 87 and 91 octane, isn't 89 the stock? The 91 octane provides better performance?

Thanks for any info

Glad to hear your happy w/SC.

What's rough between 1-2, is it hitting the limiter?

Not sure what to say about the tranny gear waffling I havne't had any issues like that. Give the computer time to adjust to the change and it may get better.

The octane thing is a bit confusing, I don’t know what SC thought process was on this. Yes the 91 will provide better performance advancing the timing, changing the spark and fuel curve.

Hey Mango,

the 1-2 shift in autostick was more noticable, rough was a bad choice of word.Nothing big, but kinda made me want to use D when stopping and going and switch to auto when I wanted to. My quirkyway to drive hehe.

So if I set the tuner to program 87 octane and I'm running 89, should I go to 87 from now on? Might try the 91.

Thanks again

I alternate between 93 & 89 so I'm run a mix in mine w/the 91 tune.

As far as shifting goes. If you have the Superchips tuner. Without any doubt you should be using the "Sport" shifting mode. The "performance" shift mode does exhibit the poor results that you described that you were getting. In my humble opinion, the Superchips tuner is worth the money just for making the transmission work properly. When I say properly, I mean when using the "Sport" mode.

In the sport mode, with the EPS in the off position, without any other modifications, allows me lay black stripes on the road surface at will. As long as it is 50 degrees outside or less....

I use the 91 octane tune, and run the readily available 93 octane pump gas.

So when I go to change to the Sport tune, I don't have to go to stock first... I can just change the settings?

It was alittle wet outside last nite, I was just crusin to dinner around 8pm and this Infiniti G35 was ridin my *** and weavin thru traffic...so he pulled up pretty close to me at a stop light, so I gave him a little taste of rubber to tell him to chill. I was provoked!
