I bought the truck used, and put maybe ten tanks of gas through it so far. I averaged maybe 15mpg in mostly rural driving between 45 and 60mph, which I thought was crappy for a 4.7 automatic. I pull the spark plugs and find that they're the original plugs, and this truck has 80,000 miles on it. I couldn't believe the original owner never replaced them. The electrodes were eroded down almost into the insulators, and the steel plug bodies had white fuzzy crystals growing out of them toward the coils.

I replaced the plugs with #4071 Champion truck plugs. It seems to both idle and accelerate better. It should squeeze out at least another 2 to 3 mpg now, but I'm hoping for close to 20. We'll see.

well usually I'm at about 200 miles and that's city driving. I just installed new spark plugs and intake etc. Right now I'm at like..60+ miles with 3/4 of the tank left. Which is a 16 gallon tank. A little more than 15mpg and I have a 4.7L V8. City driving only...idk if that's good or not.

I'm getting about 14-15 mpg and that is mainly city, about 20% is highway and 80% of the highway is in traffic. That's with the 2003 3.9L V6 Quad Cab, 2wd, 8.25 rear end, dual exhaust, & with bigger tires (I can't remember the size but they about the biggest widest without rubbing).

It is better then my GMC full size truck that got about 11 mpg. And it's alot roomer (reg cab vs Quad Cab).

i gto 15.3 mpg city with mine and that is on winter fuel, and i tend to let it warm up for a nice long while before driving it so i would imagine i could do better than that if i didnt wait for it to warm up but w/e idc at this point

I get 16-17mpg on winter fuel doing mostly highway runs, with a few miles of city in there. My commute's 41.5 miles, 33 of which is highway, so that helps. In the summer, I do much better...18-21 mpg on mostly highway.

2006 CC 4.7 V-8 6 sp. entirely stock except for the topper (for now)

Mine is not doing the best as I just got it and have not made it through the break in yet. I am averaging 16.9L/100k which is about 14MPG. Not the best but I have only done city driving and a bit of country roads. I just hope the mileage improves before my gas card runs out as gas around here is over 1$/L(3.23 US/Gallon)

This leads to another question I was going to ask, I am going to get a tonneau cover for the truck soon and I was wondering how much it improves the fuel economy on these trucks.
