Default '92 Daytona up and died

Well this a new place for me, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light for me here. I own a '92 Daytona 2.5L Fuel injected automatic about 187 K on it... anyway, it's been running really well then one evening it just did not start when I went out to use it. Nothing happened, it didn't fire at all. We can't figure it out. We thought it was the computer at first, but since checking out three different computers (yep made sure the numbers matched) and still nothing happened, we can't figure out what went wrong. Someone suggested the MAP sensor but I have no clue. Any tips?

Sincerely,

Jaxxine

I take it that the engine turns over and nothing else. Have you checked it for codes, the PCM (computer) has a built in self checking system that will give you the codes simply by turning the key on and off and counting the flashes. For full info on this go here: http://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/

Well we used the codes and it flashed a code 11...and trailing back fromt he distributor to the timing belt, we figured outit was the camshaft. It's broken, but thats being replaced and then I can drive my car again!

Glad to hear you found the problem, too bad it had to be the cam though.

are you having someone fix it (like a shop) or doing it yourself? I have a complete head for that engine that I dont want more than $40 for.

Actually I'm getting it fixed over at the local highschool in their automechanics area. They already have the cam shaft for me, but thanks for the offer.

I had one of my old cars painted at the local tech school, not a bad job for just materials.
