Awesome, keep us posted. Did they give you a loaner while your truck is gone?

Good Luck with that new pump and torque convertor..!
Hope it all works out for ya. Ask them what the torque spec is on the bellhousing.
Friend of mine just had his 2010 done, the dumbazz`s never tightend the trans to the motor.
Now the dealer is replaceing the transmission. Where`d all the GOOD mechanics go anyway.

Just did the tie-rod recall today on my 2010 QD Hemi Sport, now i have to take it back for RE-ALIGNMENT...!!!!
They DID align it after tie-rods installed, but now pulls right terrible..!!! (didnt pull at all before recall/repair...!!!!)

Anyhow,
i didnt meen to get off topic in here, just saying how bad the mechanics are today, and i hope your job goes better than mine at YOUR dealership. And dealers wonder why they get a bad rap..! I just krindge everytime i have to go to the dealer these days. I have YET, to find a dealer that has halfway decent mechanics.

Hi guys, just bought a brand new ram 1500 hemi 5.7L, quad cab 4x4 SLT, 5 speed auto transmission, and I started looking on how to make it all "bullet Proof" before off roading seriously...
Unfortunately my truck have no front/rear diff locks, no sway bar disconnect, no limited slip diffs, etc...
I will install all of the above, a 3" lift kit, get 4:1.0 axle ratios, and 35" BF Goodrich mud terrains.
In order to keep my 3yr warranty valid, the dealer suggested to do all the modifications needed " in house" using Mopar OEM parts.
Can any of the "serious off roaders" in this site, suggest what more could be made to make my RAM unstoppable outdoor
What's the real use of a torque converter? Is it simply good for pulling heavy weights which I will rarely do, or it's a "sure" thing for off roaders?
Many thx in advance

The torque converter is what is used to connect the engine to the transmission. It bolts to the flexplate (flywheel on a manual trans vehicle) and uses the fluid to spin the input shaft of the transmission.
See if they can put the R/T converter in there, better stall and less power loss to the wheels

I do believe the R/T convertor is a higher stall torque convertor,
which i believe is more slippage at lower speeds, but i`m nooooooo expert.

Not a bad choice, as long as you wanna beat on the truck i guess...
but in my opinion, i wouldnt want a higher stall speed TQ for a daily driver if you plan on it being your daily driver as well.

May i ask why you didnt just buy a "PowerWagon" instead of putting all this extra stuff in the truck you bought..?
The PowerWagon comes with alotta goodies you wouldnt have had to buy for this truck you already have.

Talking

It's a shame man, I took the only Ram available in the place where I live, and they said that there are no new orders being scheduled for anytime soon...
I just took it the way it was
I found out today about the RAM RUNNER, and the RAM POWER WAGON concepts, and that all parts could be ordered separately which is great
I'll pay the dealer a visit next week and ask about the R/T torque converter issue, but I don't believe that I'll be convinced about their answer, as real off road pros cannot be found here, and I should rely either on Internet, or try the hard way which is trial and error )
Even in the MOPAR site, you just can't find all the necessary info to get your order done safely...I found most of the RAM RUNNER stage 2 parts, but none related to stage 1...Stage 2 offers 14" of wheel travel that I will rarely need, as most of my off road trip are either under heavy snow, or deep mud, rock climbing and 150mph jumps are not on the agenda )
Many thanks guys, and keep the tech info flowing
