Whats up with these ads by google under the original post in a topic? While I understand advertising these ads are kinda annoying.

I'm glad someone else thinks the same thing. When I logged on I was thinking, "Wtf? Spam on Df?"... They're really annoying, sorry to complain. But on the other hand it's probably for new Df upgrades...

I'd pay $35 a year membership to pay for upgrades rather than have these ads where they're at now. Yes, they get noticed under the first post of a page, but it's really annoying. I could see putting them ABOVE the first post of each page. They'd still be highly visible but wouldn't be as annoying.

Of course, that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinoins...

I am sorry everyone...

We pay over $30 per DAY to advertise on Google Ads... and make only about $15 to $20 in revenue back from you guys clicking them (the google ad's). Ralph cannot keep taking the loss so he added an ad under the first post. It doesn't flash or pop up or anything... I don't see why everyone finds it annoying... it doesn't do anything annoying. It's just there. Whether it was above the first post or under the first post, what does it matter...?

I know you guys can't deal with change very well... but SOMEONE has to pay for all the goodies we have planned. Trust me... you won't even notice it after a few days.

Not to get offtopic or anything Amanda, but how is Ralph doing? Haven't chatted with him since sometime early last year [&:]

He's doing wonderful... I'll let him know you asked. Working too much as usual... but he keeps our butts online so... more power to him.

Hahaha. I didn't even notice them until you pointed them out. Just one more thing to overlook I suppose.

I don't know. It just looks cheap. First thing thru my mind when I saw it was "WTF, they're whoring DF out to Google". Just think it's in a lousy place. Like I'm being forced against my will to look at it. Which I know is kinda the point of having an ad. By the way, I have clicked on a couple of the links off there.

I understand the cost and investment involved and why you have to have stuff like that. That's why I'd be happy to pay for a membership if that ever comes about.

Like I said, we all know about opinions and a**holes... everyone has them and they all stink.

A membership might not be such a bad idea. Not necessarily in leiu of the sponsor or ads, but it would generate some income for the site. Bad thing is that it's certain to cut down membership. Maybe there should be some perks to being a contributor.

LOL... I didn't say your opinions stink... if I got my way, they wouldn't be there... but I also understand it takes money to make money and it takes advertising to grow... thus us advertising on Google and trying to make that money back using Google.

Thanks for clicking the ad's everyone... even if you just do it to help DF and not see the ad itself... it ALWAYS helps. Same thing with advertisers banners... even if you don't surf their site... a click from DF helps DF show that advertiser that we do send them traffic... so click all the ad's (Google and Sponsors) you want... it is a great help! Thank you!!

Don't worry, we know how people feel about a membership program... it's one of a million things we have on the table right now.
