What compares to a Magnum?

In 2008 Volvo V90 will very much look like the Magnum.

My friend,
It sounds like you need a Magnum SXT! I love my RT but the gas mileage really does suck unless you are in cruise at 65 on the highway. For what you are describing about the kids, sports and the commuting back and forth PLUS your loyalty to DC / Mopar, the SXT seems the logical choice!

Compare?
Nothing... But the 2006 Ford Mustang Wagon looks pretty cool, for a Ford anyway... Better than the Audi, BMW or Volvo. Not in performance, but in style.
But, it is still a Ford, so there's no hope.

I had a Corvette convertible, Ferrari 308 and for hauling stuff including car trailer a Lumina 3800 minivan. I wasnt in the market for a car at all, happy with what I had. I fell in love with the power and radical looks of Magnums in the first commercial. Ordered one right away (2nd one in town I believe). Traded in the minivan (mint cond), sold the Ferrari, and rarely drive the vette at all. My Corvette club members have recently asked if I even still had it since they dont see it.........hehe. I have way more fun in the Magnum.
If you are comparing price range, power, awd and utility Subaru has several wagons with about the same preformance and power of the SXT. Granted the only one I would want out of the bunch would be the STI which is not really a good comparison.
For me I actually considered the new Ford Mustang GT and, believe it or not, a Ford Escape Hybrid.
Then I started thinking if my tastes are for power and utility, why would I consider anything besides the Magnum?
I bought my 2005 Magnum RT 2 weeks ago and I am not even in the country... I still have to wait until I get back from Iraq later this month to drive my baby.

The new outback is pretty nice, but with the boxer and VDC it comes in the same as the RT-AWD. My personal advice would be to save up a little longer and get the RT, its well worht it(I don't have one yet, but have done my research).
Nothing Compares...
But if you are thinking of something else, be sure it will do BETTER than the Magnum when hit by an Expedition... No way would I waste money on a Subaru. Light tin cans with a bitchen Ricer Engine. No thanks, I value myself more than that, but hey, each to his own... I smoke those Wagons all day long... Not the STI, but it's not really a Wagon either... Although never been smoked by an STI either... But I love smoking Motorcycles, freaking guys pull up to you at the next light with their eyeballs popping out of their helmets! "Wow, that car's fast..." They can't believe they just got beat by a Station Wagon, off the line and all...

Volvo wagon, Audi A4 wagon and a Subaru Impreza wagon cover other caomparable station wagons. The Audi and the Subaru stack up well concerning performance although the Audi is real expensive. There are endless "crossover" options.
