Default Tire question

I am sure this question has been asked before but here goes again. Want to replace the tires on my RT sometime soon but keep the 18 inch wheels...I really like the wheels. What are some suggestions for replacement tires? Would really appreciate some info since I have no idea what to look for....thanks in advance...Kent

My suggestions for that size wheel and on the LX is the new GoodYear Assurance tires. From all the available tires, they're the overall best performer for handling(dry, wet, snow), tread wear, RR, traction, steering,... Or other good tires in that size is the Continental ProContacts that are used on the police LXs, or the Michelin MXM used on the Charger RTs. These are just suggestions.

Here are some tire substitute charts that I pulled from the net.

Thanks for the advice everyone I do appreciate it. What I was looking at and let me know what you think....Michelin MXV4 S8 in 235/55R/18 or Michelin MXV4 Plus in 255/55R/18 ???? Are those a decent set of rubber for this car? The reason I am looking at Michelins is because the tire shop in town handles those and I trust them. I have heard so many negatives about the Contis that I think a change might be the way to go. My car only has 1800 miles on it so maybe I am premature in thinking that way. Any ideas please throw them my way...thanks again

Very short tread life for one and not a great wet weather tire. Maybe the Pro Contis are different I dont know...one thing I am not an expert on is tires so that is why I am asking. I like the way the Contis look but again havent heard much praise on them as far as longevity goes.

I have 225/60/18 Pirelli P7 speed rated at W. Much tighter handling and quieter and better ride compliance than my stock Conti 4x4 tires in the same size (I have AWD).

Not all Conti's are the same. The stock Conti's are not that great, but I have Extreme Contact Conti's on my G35 Coupe. They do very well.
