normal price should be between $600 and $800 to paint the fiberglass hood. more if there's fit problems.

I like the look of the hood. It really gives the car an aggressive look. About painting and installing, I went to a local paint shop that deals with custom painting. I don't think you would get a quality paint job at a Maco or like Econo Paint. The Dodge dealer can also refer you a good paint shop. I paid $700 for the paint job and install. Also be prepared, not all hoods come with an exact fit. They had to shave the left side of my hood to it to match the right side gap between the fender and hood. When it was put on without the change and centered, the left side was tight against the fender. I ran into a guy at a Pilot, and he was showing me the ripples in his hood. I don't know who painted it, but I bet it wasn't a custom body shop. As far as the Ram Air, 65Standard and I discussed that before. On the Vipor hood when the air enters the scoop, it makes an immediate turn to the right. True Ram Air is a straight shot no obstructions. The new air box 65' has made is a true Ram Air setup. Looking at the new hood, depending how far back the scoops opening is, I would have see their Ram Air additional part to make it functional. As it is, where the intake manifold opening is on the car, it looks to me the scoop would be behind that point. The Vipor hoop still helps with the performance of the car, as it allows more air into the intake and it is cool air. Cool air has as much benefit as Ram Air. I have read this on a performance website!

I emailed the company that is selling this hood and they only had the one pic of it. Cost to paint a hood 300.00. If all goes well.

Thanks guys. I will keep all that in mind. Not really looking for the whole functional Ram Air system right now. Just want something that looks good on the car. I have a body place i took my car when i was involved in a hit and run. I am sure they can do the paint for me. I was planning on doing the install myself that way i could get the hood over to them. Otherwise i have no way to get the hood to the shop. I am sure they can center it up for me after i get it there. will keep you posted. I will keep and eye on the hood on EBAY as well and make my decision when it comes out. gives me more time to justify the hood to the wife...

I contacted the supplier as well and here was his response.

Hi
The listing on eBay was inadvertently posted by one of our too-eager
retail vendors. The pictures shown are actually the artists rendering
sketches for our Magnum NRG show car to be unveiled at the SEMA trade
show in Las Vegas this coming November.

We will be releasing a Magnum hood soon after the SEMA show based on
the
artists rendering. However, since the hood is still in the development
stages, it may vary somewhat in appearance from what is posted on eBay.
Once the hood is ready for production and sale photographic images will
be posted on our website and made available to our vendors. We have
requested that the vendor remove the artist sketches until the actual
hood is ready for sale.

As far as your questions on fit and finish; our hoods are designed as
reasonably bolt-on replacements for the factory hoods. That is not to
say there may be some small adjustment needed to bring into final fit
[the same as any replacement part put onto a vehicle after the factory
assembly], but you will not have hours and hours of
sanding/blocking/refitting involved with our hoods.

Bookmark our website at www.keystonerestyling.com If you check the site
starting in late October, you will be able to get more information on
the Magnum hood.
