The A/C vent diffusers are pretty much useless. Any direction you aim them it almost always blows out straight. The rear vents barely blow at all. The A/C isn’t as cold as my ’97 Grand Cherokee. The rear inside door handle DOES suck.

I wish it had seat memory, and a light to show activation of all 8 cylinders so I could learn to drive it more economically. I also would like someone to make seat covers for the rear seats (I have two kids back there).

Angry Pickle, you must not have a 5-star dealer. Mine is 5-star and they have been very good about getting back with me and fixing the car right. However, I did have my SXT in the shop about 4 days for some stuff that only should have taken 2. I think the Magnum is so new and the techs so inexperienced that they proscrastinate, or else they have to call DCX directly to get support.

Hey, everyone, regarding the coin holder, just use your ashtray (unless you smoke, obviously). I never use the coin holders that come with my cars, I always use the ashtray and it works PERFECT! No rattling, easy to access.

Here is my list of magnum irritations:

1) The Airbag light has been stuck on since day one and they had to order parts to fix it
2) The passengers mirror was mis-aligned and doesn't adjust correctly (dealer ordered a new mirror)
3) There is a whine/howl when the air conditioning is running
4) The car bump steers
5) I have a rattle when I hit bumps and the car shudders
6) Sometimes when I put the car in reverse it takes a while to move once given some gas
7) I have a growl and shudder when I turn the wheel past 3/4 of a turn when backing out or making a U turn

A pretty unpleasant list of issues after dropping over 30k on a new car. All those things considered, if they can fix them I will be totally satisified with the car. It runs good (even with the 3.5), it handles extremely well for a wagon, gas mileage isn't exactly what was advertised...but my Grandma isn't driving it either. I plan on really tweaking it out and making it mine. It is all practice for somewhere down the road when I feel they have the kinks worked out. Then I will happily go down to the dealer and give them this one back in a trade for the all wheel drive RT.

Hey Brian, I had the same problem with the airbag lights staying on constantly. My dealer did not need to order parts, it was a recalibration of the sensor in the passenger seat, nothing else.

What is "bump steer" by the way? Sounds like your car was built before 4/24. So was my SXT. I have had my share of annoyances, but nothing as mechanical as your list. In fact, nothing mechcanical on my car, unless you count the right-pull issue as mechanical. My dealer has been great, and like you said, as long as things get fixed, I am happy. I always know it is a risk to buy a brand new model of anything, especially American.

By bump steer I mean that when I hit bumps in the roads it has a tendancy to veer off one direction or the other.

My only complaints are the high price of the car and I wish the car had more power and better mileage.

HEY, I can dream, can't I?

Bob, you're kidding right? The R/T does have more power, better gas mileage and lower price than anything resembling it. Of course, more of anything at a lower price is good, but in comparison I have to say the R/T really gets it right.

I only wish they offered a stripped down version of the R/T, but DCX knows if Americans can afford the HEMI they might as well be forced to pay for all the other gadgets they don't need but just think they want. Plus the R/T is sorta a stripped down version of the 300c anyway.

One can never have too much power, hungry - aren't I?

No, really, car could use lower rear end gears and some Z rated tires, and get rid of the top speed limiter.

Make the exhaust LOUDER! Stock RT sounds like a 6 cylinder. putt putt

I am fixing the exhaust for now, the rest will have to wait.

Brian, I noticed soon after I got my SXT that the tires were grossly overinflated: 44-45 psi in each tire. I couldn't understand why the car rode so hard, especially when the demo car rode smoothly. I reduced the tire pressures to 30 psi as per the door sticker, and the car rides much more comfortably, the steering 'kick' is gone. I have about 1200 miles on the car now, but haven't had any rattles pop up yet, thankfully.

I had a complaint with the nav system playing mp3 files and not being able to navigate folders.. until I realized I was an idiot. So I guess I just have a mild aversion to the joystick [:@]

The only thing I don't care for is the headrest - seems to always push my head forward, and there ain't a damn thing I can do about it as far as tilting it back. (Unless I'm an idiot on two counts... I better go check again!)

And thanks guys for the pointer to the R/T emblem!
