Default tow package holdup?

Does anyone know what the status of the tow package is?

I ordered my R/T 6 weeks ago with the tow package as the dealer said it was available. However Dodge has yet to issue a vin for my R/T yet, so apparently it's not even scheduled to be built. Unfortunately I found out (online) that the tow package is a "late availability" option (after I place the order). The dealer thinks that's what's holding up my build, since there are other R/T's they've ordered and they have VINs for them, yet they were ordered later than mine. The dealer is clueless, they can't tell me how long.... three months or nine months... whos know. They (the dealer) also states that they cannot remove the tow package without resubmitting the order (thus I loose 6 weeks) and worse yet, they tell me that the sticker is going up 2k, as dodge is increasing the sticker. So, even if I do re-order I have to drop another 2k.

The only other option that I ordered that is not on the ones that they've been ordering/receiving is the protection group, who knows...maybe this is the holdup as well.

All comments and/or recommendations would be appreciated!!!

Right or not, that's what the dealer is saying. We'll see what they say this week, hopefully they will be able to give me a better answer then last week......which was next to nothing.

Honestly...id find another dealer.

I just put in my order for a Mineral Grey RT with AWD and towing package....3 to 5 weeks for delivery....no markup on the price (except for the additional 1500ish for the AWD model).

It isnt dodge thats marking up the price...its your dealership.

The difference between dealer invoice and MSRP (or what they claim MSRP is) is pure dealer profit.

Go elsewhere and save.

I doubt you'll only wait 3 to 5 weeks. I ordered mine with a towing package on June 26th, and it's still in BG status waiting on materials before they can even schedule a build date. At one time, the web site below said that Magnums wouldn't be built with the towing package until early August. They updated the site, but for some reason, the Magnum dropped off their list.

no doubt...after reading some of the other replies it would seem the dealer is a bit out of touch with reality.

However in regards to the "additional 2k markup"....I think skcgeek is being taken for a ride and would shop around.

I ordered my RT on the 21rst of June with the tow package. I have no idea what stage of production it is in. The only thing I know is that I don't have it yet. I have a call to my dealer to get a VON so that I can check status.

The RT that I ordered on June 26 went from BG to BX status on August 2nd. It's nice to see some progress!

I ordered my Blue RT with the Tow Package Jun 26, the car was shipped on July 26th and I picked it up on July 30th. I have no idea why Build and Delivery times seem to vary. I might have gotten mine a bit sooner because I ordered from a large dealership or maybe because I bought the car in Toledo, Oh (I live in Columbus, Oh) and it is a 'DC' town?? I really have no idea. The suprising thing was that the Dealership had 10 RTs last week!

I will say this: you will like the little changes they have made since the plant retooling. They have added a satin bezel around the shifter, a "BOSTON Premium Sound" stamp on either inside door, and the cup holders now have a cover.

r_oder,

What items came on the Magnum with the tow package and how much did it cost for the
tow package.
