I looked at that Airaid intake and something that struck this non-gearhead was that the old air filter box appears to have been left in place. Why would one effectively cover 20-40 of the surface of the air intake AND box the remaining air in such a way as to allow it to be warmed inside the engine compartment?

 

I just got the Airaid replacement filter for my RT. It's #850-233. Got it at a Dodge dealer for under $40.00.

I wish they came out with a Ram air intake kit, because on my 95 SS I had the KNN kit, but I when I switched to ram air it made a big improvement in HP and the engine was running cooler too.
