04 jolt is this normal?
i just bought my g/f a 04 neon es with 20,000 mi, and when i shift the car into drive fron neutral or nuetral into drive or drive to park, it shifts rough almost a jolt? is this normal, do neons just **** into gear rough or is it something more serious? keep in mind the car only has 20k miles. any info would be great thanks -Rob
I guess it depends on how big of a jolt. A little bit of a jump is normal for any smallish automatic, I'm thinking. If it's just a little blippish kinda deal, I'm sure it's fine. But if it's shaking very hard, or if there's some kind of noise, that would probably be quite bad.
I dont think ever. I tried other neons and they shift rough also but idk if this is normal

ther is gonna be a little jerk, jolt when you put it in and out of gear, it should not be any different than any other ATX. If you think there is something wrong, take it to a good trans shop, have them service it, adjust the bands, fluid and filter change, make sure they use the correct fluid.
A little CLUNK is normal, A big SLAM is bad,
I can't imagine that a 04 w/20k on it would need a ATXservice tho....
What mileage do they recomend it at???
