Horsepower Question

Gary Howell said I would get like 20-25 horsepower; was he talking at the crank?

One cat back exhaust that the box claims +50, some stickers that claim to add +50...
No it's not. You guys aren't factoring in the loss of power across the entire engine. You are going to lose power at the transmission, anythign that runs off a belt.
Just to name a few things.

I have a lot to say now [X(]
Tonight, I was driving home about to turn on my street and a Mazda Protoge was in front of me. He pushed it becuause he heard my engine and exhaust (he tried me) so I followed him. I have had my mods on my car for like 3 months and never pushed it against anyone, so I was tempted. Because I was behind him, I saw he had an exhaust and his car was lowered (that's all I saw). So anyway, we both pushed it and I heard a turbo from his car. I stayed behind him and we finally were on a street where he wanted to show out. He didn't leave me that bad, but he was gradually leaving me. I guess you could say, I didn't have a chance
. I have felt a big difference with the things I have done to my car; now I don't seem to be satisfied. Hopefully when I put my 60mm throttle body and injectors on, I will improve on my top end and all around performance. I just told you what I did with my engine.
Now I am thinking a lot harder about getting a cam or a PCM.
What would you all get first; and what would you all get if you were me (listing the mods done to my engine above)?
The only PCM I saw for my 2000 D. Neon was at Howell. Are those hard to install or is it just a cable to connect once you get it? You will have to put the best gas in your car after you install it right?
It seems like a lot of work to install a cam and valve springs though. I looked at it and it seemed like you woulld have to pull a lot out to get to the cam. It seems like you should just take the whole engine out. Was it hard to install?

Crane are one of the best.
A cam and valve springs is probably going to net you the most gain. The only thing you have to do to remove the cam is remove the valve cover and the passenger side motor mount. You are going to have to jack the engine up enough to slide the cam out. It's not too difficult but if you have never done it it's going to take some time.

What do you think of titanium retainers for the valve springs? Is that an improvement or just a way to spend more money?
If I get the cam, will cam gears help a lot to improve performance?

Like I said, there's only one way to know for sure, take it to the dyno and run it.

130-140 is realistic. The best next mod you can do is the top end kit from modern, it gives you the springs, cam, cam gear, gaskets, roller rockers. I think its around $1100 for the whole thing, thats what I am gonna get for mine.
