No. You do not need it. The header comes with spring bolts.

I had a Mopar Performance chrome header on my '99 R/T and I loved it.

The header would make it sound better I'm sure, but does it do much for performance?

Uuuuhhhhhhhhhhh.....YEAH! A header helps speed the exhaust out of the engine by providing a less restrictive path for gasses to flow through. A header is definately a must have.

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and I have a question about a header for my 04 Neon R/T. I know a header could make a big difference on a stock 04 Neon but would it be worth getting for my R/T? Would the performance increase be worth the money? Thanks for the help, 2K4

The header will help with performance. You may lose a little low end depending on what else is done to your car, but the top end should be better and the sound also.

I have a high flow muffler on there now. im putting the header on when it gets here. Should i bother making the pipe from the cat to the muffler bigger? i herd it was a decent size it comes with. If i do put a bigger pipe on wont i loose back pressure? thanks
