Stupid Battery Light!!!!
Hello everyone! New here so please be gentle. My wife's '95 Neon keeps getting the battery light on. I've changed practically eerything (Alternator, fuseable link, battery) and it still keeps staying on. I'm starting to catch heat from my loudmouth Father-in-Law that I'm not taking care of my wife, so I'm begging anyone to help me so I can get her mobile and him off my back. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked it for codes yet? The cheap way would be to remove the light bulb behind it.[sm=smiley36.gif] If it doesn't show any other problems, try disconnecting the battery for a while and reconnect it and see if it persists.

Definately check the codes - my 96 Neon is goofy at times - my light came on and it was for a Thermal Battery Warning - apparently some Neon have a temperature sensor under neath the battery. Mine does not have the sensor but I get a warning light occasionally

Thanks for the responses guys! I haven't had a chance to get under it and look at the wiring, etc. due to weather. I'll get the codes and post 'em up asap. Thanks again!

Hey everyone! Thanks to all that replied. Checking the trouble codes I came up with code 41. The book says that there's an open or short circuit in the generator field. I'm guessing a grounding strap/connector???? Let me know what you think. Thanks!
