No one knows the depth of speaker I can go without "making it fit" ? :P

Also, not to get OT, but I'm now looking at either JBL, Infinity, or Rockford speakers now...and I'd appreciate recommendations on models. It's these 3 brands cause I can get good deals through a friend.

Hell yea, i really like infinitys but i understand that some ppl like the cheaper ones b/c they just want "better than stock" sound, which is fine.

And cheer up scottrempel! Stock is not SAD!

Infinity. Go with the Infinities.
This is all you need to know when it comes to components I have infinites 5 1/4s for the front speakers in my altima (replaced pioneers) and lets just say I will never run anything else in that car they are amazing. Project neon has rockford components in it and compared to my infinitys it sounds like ***.

I had infinities in my other car, they sounded awesome. My stock speakers sound good enough for me right now. I will upgrade them at some point, but not now.

I do like my music, I plan on probably tossin two subs in the trunk. I like a little thump with my music, but nothin like the people you hear driving around. Plus I don't want to rattle my car all apart either. But at the moment speakers is not on my to-do list. Engine parts for now, speakers at some point though. I need a long tube header next.

well thats even better, i just said that b/c you compared painting a dash to putting in new speakers[8D]... and my system is not loud at all(to me) there is some rattling but nothing hard enough to rattle it apart.

I got a lot of boom but I usually only use enough to moke it sound good though. Once and a while she gets cranked when I need to prove a point . I am much more of a sound quality type person. Thats why I love my Infinitys.
